Low Heat Input, High Strength
The biggest problem when welding thick material is that the workpiece overheats and loses its shape (warping). With traditional methods, you apply heat for minutes to melt the metal. The FLW 2 KW’s high energy density, however, melts and fuses the metal in milliseconds. The heat doesn’t have time to spread through the part. The result: You can weld a 5 mm stainless steel tank without any darkening or warping on the surface. Not only is the part’s appearance preserved, but its molecular structure (strength) is also maintained.
Handles Tough Metals with Ease
“Reflective metals” (aluminum and brass)—the laser’s greatest enemy—are a breeze for this machine. While these materials bounce off the surface of low-power machines, the FLW 2 KW dominates them. You can weld aluminum and brass up to 2 mm thick without any problems, without spatter, and without leaving pores. Thanks to its 3-in-1 design, once welding is complete, you can change the tip on the gun and use the same power for deep rust removal or practical cuts up to 3–4 mm.
